Jen and Nozomi, The Atrium at Meadowlark
Jen and Nozomi will always have a special place in my heart because they were the patient couple who helped me film my branding video. We met up one morning, bright and early, in Old Town Alexandria. The danced under a gazebo for me and my videographer, Maryn, and were totally onboard when we had to shoot the same set up two or three times for different video angles. Even with all of the unusual, their session is one of my favorites. I just love the colors , light, and movement.
So when Jen and Nozomi asked me to photograph their wedding, before they had even chosen a venue, I was smitten and honored. The venue they did choose was a dream. The Atrium at Meadowlark and the Botanical Gardens is so beautiful and the planning staff is top notch. I hope to shoot at the NOVA parks again soon- it was just so fun and enjoyable. I mean, take a look at these images- greenery and flowers abound!
While Jen and Nozomi had technically been married for some time for health insurance reasons, the wedding was still heartwarming and meaningful. The two read their own vows, invited parents to tell stories about their love story’s origins, and even had leis of orchids placed around their necks as an homage to Jen’s birthplace, Hawaii.
The reception was so fun. Leis made out of candy were bestowed upon the guests and the bride’s sister played violin along with a recording of the father playing a waltz he wrote FOR Jen while the pair danced (amazing right?) Jen and Nozomi’s dance was nothing short of artistic- the two twirled effortlessly across the floor. Then, once the party music started, their friends and family were ready to shake it! It was such a pleasure to celebrate this pair with their nearest and dearest. I wish Jen and Nozomi a lifetime of happiness and blessings!
