Anne & Patrick, Shepherdstown Engagement
One of the things I really love about this job is the fun, smart, kind-hearted people I get to meet. I had so been looking forward to this session because I hadn't had the opportunity to meet Anne yet, though we had exchanged plenty of emails. I could tell from those e-mails I was going to like her! With a sense of humor and excitement for life, Anne is the kind of gal you are instantly drawn to and want to befriend. Meeting in person did not disappoint! She's got a million watt smile and isn't stingy with it! Especially when Patrick (or PJ or "Peej" as Anne calls him) is around. There were plenty of times when I was out of earshot that PJ would whisper something and have Anne in stitches.
We chose Shepherdstown because Anne and PJ have a history here. They used to live in this town and would take evening strolls along its picturesque streets. Returning for engagement pictures felt right, especially because the pair started off the evening with dinner at the famous "Mecklenburg Inn" or "The Meck" as locals call it.
Anne and PJ met in Morgantown, WV, while attending West Virginia University. Only a few months after dating, Anne was slated to depart for Poland for a year in a study abroad program. While Anne studied history for her graduate degree, PJ courted Anne over Skype. He even visited her in Poland and the pair found a love for traveling together.
After almost 5 years together, PJ decided to ask Anne to become his wife. Knowing Anne's devotion to her family, he proposed in front of both their families on Christmas Day. Anne says PJ's proposal will always be one of her favorite memories.
The pair will tie the knot at her mom's house this September and I can't wait! This down to earth couple will be a joy to celebrate!
