Sara & Patrick, Shepherdstown Engagement Session
I know it's cliché to say "oh look how cute this couple is...," but come on... how cute is this couple? Tall, dark, and handsome? Check. Beautiful redhead with blue eyes? Check. Sara and Patrick are a photographer's dream! And sweet to boot.
When we first met up, I learned all about how Patrick is super handy and basically an electrician (!), how Sara wants, nay needs, a baby goat, and how the two got engaged in Ireland! How amazing and beautiful that must have been!
Sara and I have been day dreaming about this engagement session for months and months. She works at Flowers Unlimited in Martinsburg, WV, and had been planning on incorporating some flowers into their shoot. I was giddy when she floated the idea by me. Ladies and gentlemen (especially gentlemen), flowers are ALWAYS a good idea. ;)
Not only that, but she ordered her dress specifically for this shoot and I just want to send this post to everyone who ever has a photo shoot with me! Long flowing dresses are always a winner in my book.
With all the prettiness posed to ensue, I had been so looking forward to this session, but we had to reschedule twice due to rain. Then last Saturday, I stepped out and it was raining again. UGH! The pair are tying the knot in early August- if we kept rescheduling this shoot, it'd end up being an anniversary session!
So we got on the phone and decided, "let's just go for it."
And I'm so glad we did! You can barely tell it was raining for 90% of our session! The key was finding a great open and neutral colored porch. We were able to have a ton of fun and lots of variety just by mixing up our posing. We even had a little mini lesson for their first dance!
Once the rain let up, we took a little stroll through some of Shepherd University's campus and caught just a few more outdoor shots. I had such a good time with Sara and Patrick and am so looking forward to their wedding here in Martinsburg.
Thank you, Sara and Patrick for being up for anything and trusting that these would turn out! Lol! I hope you'll love these images half as much as me!
