Finding your community: Spoken Bride
I got a sweet care package in the mail this week from my good friends over at Spoken Bride. If you haven't heard about the site, and you're a Catholic Bride or newlywed, you should head over and check them out. The site describes its reader as a romantic-
"alight with anticipation for her wedding day, but she knows the foremost romance in life is a divine one."
I first discovered Spoken through it's co-founder, Stephanie Calis, who actually taught my husband and I how to track our fertility for the purpose of family planning (Natural Family Planning, or NFP). Back then Stephanie and Andrew were still newlyweds and Kevin and I were engaged. Nowdays, Kevin and I share our lives as husband and wife + parents of one amazing little girl. Stephanie and Andrew have a beautiful growing family and Steph has even written a book! Invited: the Ultimate Catholic Wedding Planner
I was so excited and impressed when I saw this new project from Stephanie and a tribe of other amazing creators. So, I was incredibly honored when Stephanie invited me to write an article for the site's blog. (If you're so inclined, you can read about my take on NFP here.) It was a great experience and I am so proud to be featured by this niche site. It's genuine and focused. The women of Spoken are sincerely seeking how to serve Catholic couples in their marriages and engagements. It's really something beautiful.
I'm also honored to be amongst the talented companies featured by Spoken in their vendor group. And while it was a wonderfully unexpected to receive a note and goodies from Spoken's business director, Andi, it was not a surprise that the team sent forth encouragement and a request for prayer.
If you're a bride that wants to enter into marriage with "awe-inspiring liturgy, decor, and photographs, each infused, above all, with the radiant beauty only made manifest in sincere holiness," you've found your community in Spoken Bride.
