Fall Foliage Engagement Session, Harper's Ferry, WV
These two will be tying the knot in a little over a month! Lauren, Jason, and I are working together to sure up timelines for their big day and it's getting me so excited.
Lauren and Jason like to go hiking and explore the history around them, so Harper's Ferry, WV, was the perfect spot for this Maryland based couple. They met in 2013 and started a courtship filled with both the great outdoors and binge watching Netflix!
Jason proposed the same way he captured Lauren's heart, by nervously cooking for her. On one of their first dates, Jason cooked Lauren a Mexican dinner and was so nervous that he ended up dropping half the onions on the kitchen floor. Lauren readily admits she found his nerves to be endearing and started falling for him right then and there. On a March evening in 2015, Jason planned to pop the question over a home cooked meal. He tied the ring around their cat's collar who would run out to greet Lauren, but Charlie didn't cooperate. So two bites into their meal, Jason excused himself and came back with cat in arm and got down on one knee. Lauren tearfully accepted and the two danced to "Marry Me" by Train in the living room. They called all their family and Jason told her about how nervous he had been to ask her Dad for his blessing and how, apparently, Charlie was unimpressed with collars, even collars sporting diamond rings.
Lauren and Jason's Engagement Session in Harper's Ferry, WV, has to be one of my all time favorite fall sessions. It was mid October and ever so slightly before peak season. The three of us were holding our breath the week leading up to our session because there were storms passing through, threatening to pull off all the leaves before they had a chance to go into their full glory.
Lauren and Jason were such a pleasure to work with. They are both smart, laid-back, and up for whatever I asked. Hike up this mountain? No prob. Lay down on the cold damp ground? You got it!
I wish for you both a life long with love and laughter. Thank you for inviting me to capture your sweet love. I had such a wonderful time and can’t wait for your wedding!
